05.28.05 - Miscellaneous news articles:

  • Milla paid $110,000 for a performance of "But the World Goes 'Round" by Liza Minnelli at the American Foundation for AIDS Research benefit dinner in Mougins, France (article). Auctioneer Brittany Murphy also threw in a lap dance.

  • Also at Cannes, Milla and Abbas Kiarostami presented the Camera D'Or award (best first film) to both Vimukthi Jayasundara for Sulanga Enu Pinisa (The Forsaken Land) and Miranda July for Me and You and Everyone We Know.

  • Milla is #82 on Maxim's Hot 100 List. The Hot 100 supplement is in June 2005 issues. Milla is featured in the preview at Maxim's site

  • Milla is credited with coining the term hufu

  • Milla discusses her name: Hollywood beauty Milla Jovovich fears her acting career took longer to establish because people constantly pronounced her surname incorrectly. The Resident Evil star considered changing her surname because she believed movie bosses ignored her because Jovovich is too difficult to say. She says, "It's the bane of my existence. No one ever gets it right in America. When I first started acting my mum wanted me to change my name, but my dad said he'd disown me. "Milla Johnson maybe, Milla Jones, Milla Jo, or how about just M-Jo? Really anything but Jovovich. It's hard to make a name for yourself if people can't even pronounce it. "Then maybe that's my thing. Better to be known as the actress with the impossible name - Jovosomething, Jovowhatever, Jovobitch - than not at all."

  • William Fichtner comments on working with Milla on Ultraviolet: "Milla is unbelievable. She has an inner torque, she is a super hero. I don't think anyone could have played her part better than she did, she was unbelievable, just like in Joan of Arc. She has such a commitment. I play Garth, a super-techie guy who is taken with Milla's character, but she is one notch above the ladder for him. I play a good guy this time, and I think that no matter what other roles I ever might portray for Kurt Wimmer, he will always ask me to play good, underground guys." (full article)

  • Short article on .45 from comingsoon.net: Milla Jovovich and Angus Macfadyen are to star in the dark comedy, .45. The film revolves around a married couple involved in small-time crime in New York's Hell's Kitchen during the 1970's. Andie MacDowell and Stephen Dorff will also star in this feature. Jovovich is to play the girlfriend to Macfadyen's character, Ed. Ed is a gun and drug dealer; after abusing his girlfriend one too many times she starts using her beauty to seduce his friends into framing him for murder.

05.27.05 - Finally added the MP3 of Left & Right (MP3, 4.8MB). Milla performed this song at Fashion Rocks in London, England on October 15, 2003. (Thanks, Roby!)
