09.29.21 - Ben Stiller, Christine Taylor, and Milla discuss the 20th anniversary of Zoolander with Esquire:

  • Jovovich used her mother's Russian accent as inspirational fodder, and added a few extra flairs to her role's personality. “I was very into her always looking like she just smelled something,” she says. And ultimately, Jovovich says she wanted to work against her model résumé. “In that sense, I wasn't scared to look weird,” she explains.

  • Jovovich says that plot design felt natural. “[It] felt so relevant in that these big fashion designers would also be these super-villains because you had Versace and they're so overtly snooty and mean that in our fantasies, they could be super-villains,” she says. Over-the-top story arcs aside, she believes, she says, that the “cliquey” industry “was perfectly represented in that all of these big scions from these houses are evil.”

09.09.21 - Milla is quoted in the article "Supermodels Speak Out Against Sexual Harassment" from The New York Times:

  • “I never experienced abuse to the extent many others did when I was starting out,” Ms. Jovovich said. “But I did experience a Wild West industry culture where kids were treated like adults and anything goes. You are young and vulnerable and potentially set up for a lifetime of abuse or bad patterns that will shape your sense of self-worth for the rest of your life.”

“As a model and a mother with a daughter coming up in this industry, I’ve seen how institutions and enablers protect abusers and insulate them from the consequences of their actions. That abuse has gone on long enough.”

  • From Milla's Instagram: I’m proud that @iamcarreotis is taking such an important step to fight for accountability not only for herself but other survivors who cannot come forward. The abuse has gone on long enough -- I want a safe industry, free of abuse for my daughter to excel in as she advances in her career. I stand with Carré, @lesaamoore @jill_dodd @shawna_lee_beauty @laurie.marsden @ej.moran @ebbapkarlsson & Emily Mott as they take a stand against their abuser. Kudos @modelallianceny for supporting survivors and pushing for real change in the industry.

09.07.21 - Interview with Milla from GamesRadar+:

  • Do you find that you get a lot of love from sci-fi fans?

Milla: There was a thing that came out a few years ago about on-screen kills. They said that I had the most kills: more than Sylvester Stallone, and more than Jet Li. And I’m thinking, “God bless the sci-fi fans that sit at home and count every single kill”. Do you know what I mean? Because who else would take the time to do that? Imagine how much work that was, so time-intensive. It’s not a machine that does that, it’s a human!

  • Monster Hunter looks quite demanding – or is that the magic of cinema?

Milla: Oh no, it was really grueling. It was a very challenging production. My husband Paul [WS Anderson, director] wanted to shoot as much in real life as possible, and put the monsters in the computer at the very end, but he wanted the landscapes to be real. So we went to some of the most remote locations to shoot this.
