Jovovich-Hawk Spring/Summer 2008

From Fashion Week Daily (New York, September 7, 2007):

A sexy antique mood came out of the Jovovich-Hawk presentation set in a Chelsea Hotel room and inspired by pre- and post-revolutionary France, Marie Antoinette, and Napoleon's wife Josephine. The tunic dresses and empire-waist satin gowns were demure but also a little risque with their lingerie look. The two designers were intrigued by the "whole idea of the underwear, nightgown as outerwear thing." The muted colors referenced negligees, the chiffon paneling was inspired by teddies from the 50s and 60s, and the cottons were naughty slumber party pajamas. The designers' intention was to create comfortable day pieces. "We don't want to make people feel like they're walking around in their underwear, we want them to feel like this is a great dress that I could wear a lot but still feel sensual in," said Hawk.
